Do You Believe in Life After Death?

The concept of life after death has fascinated me since I was a child. It is a topic that has been debated by philosophers, theologians, and scientists alike. While some believe in the existence of an afterlife, others argue that death is the end of consciousness. In this blog post, we will explore the different perspectives on life after death and discuss the evidence that supports or refutes its existence. But most important we are going to discuss my beliefs.

When I was a child I always used to ask my grandmother (Maternal) what happens after we died. She never gave me a clear answer, she just told me her beliefs and let me make my assumptions, now that I'm an adult I understand why she did it that way, never giving me a straight answer: (hey I believe that there is an afterlife or whatever she believes it was) She wanted me to find my self and follow my heart. She taught me so many things - even though she barely went to school she was wise, smart and loving. (It has been about 7 years or more since her death and it still hurts so much. I miss her so much that while I write tears just want to drop right away.)

I remember when my Grandmother passed away I was sitting with my brother in the living room just talking about her and our childhood with her. We had a book cake in the living room and all the books and decorations fell, we looked at each other and then the phone rang. There was the news that my grandmother was gone. We were so far away. She was in the Dominican Republic and us in New York. My world just fell apart. But I do believe now that she went to our house that night to say goodbye, to see us one last time, and I cry every time I think about this. It might be silly of me that every morning when I wake up, the first thing that I do is the sign of the cross, and I ask Grandma for her blessings and to forgive me for not being with her on her final days.

I don't believe that there is another life after we die, or that we are reborn again as a baby again, or that death is the end of consciousness, But I do believe that our spirit stays with the loved one for a while before it goes to rest: hear me out why I think this; After my grandmother past away I could feel her like she was there with me. One day I was sitting in my bed and I felt as if someone sat next to me, Like that side of the bed went down. I swear I think I saw her in my living room mirror - I just got scared and didn't look again. My baby laughed while sleeping like he was playing with someone. it didn't occur to me to show my baby a picture of my grandmother until my mother came from the Dominican Republic and brought me the picture that they prepared to give people who assisted my grandmother's funeral. When my son saw the picture his reaction was: oh that's grandma, I was like you know her, he said yeah, she plays with me. I also think that God gives the spirits rewards to come visit their loved ones, and I say this because even though it has been more than 7 years sometimes I feel her.

Religion plays a significant role in shaping people's beliefs about life after death. Many major religions, such as Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism, teach the existence of an afterlife in various forms. These beliefs are often based on sacred texts and religious teachings, providing followers with a sense of hope and purpose. If I had to choose a Religion I would choose Catholicism - my grandmother and all my family are catholic - not speaking badly about any religions, but if you see all other religions talk bad about Catholics. This is the religion that I grew up with, I was baptized under this religion. But now religions are just a cover-up to get money. I mean on mass in all the churches that I have assisted - and this I'm going to say based on my experience because I have visited other churches to see if I find what I looking for but no, it is all the same. On every mass of the different churches and religions that I visited that charity bucket passed more than 4 times. It is insane - the government helps and funds churches well. But to put the cherry on top the church that my brother assists is the one that makes me not to believe in people or churches, I mean they have mass from 8 AM to 10 PM, every Saturday, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 1 hour. But that's not it - Members have to be there Saturday the entire day, and for every mass, they need to donate money every time that charity bucket passes. They even collect money straight from his check when he gets paid. I mean what is that? I donate and you also control my paid check. This is why I don't go to church anymore. I believe in god - and I pray every day for my family and well well-being of everybody.

Catholics believe that after death they will be judged based on how well they have followed God's teachings. This statement is found on bbc.com I believe, I believe that we will be judged based on our performance on earth, but I do believe that for everything we do on earth, we will pay on earth.

This is what I believe - my own opinion - I don't want to express in a bad way about any church, this is why I didn't share any religion name but the one I believe I will be if I have to choose one. What are your believes after death? I would love to read your comments.
